SIOMA Town Council is carrying out Sensitization meetings on the enhanced Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for 2024.
The Sensitizations are aimed at ensuring the communities have a Continuously aware of what the CDF is offering
and to ensure that every person in all the 12 Wards of Sioma have access to the Fund.
The Social Economic Planner Ms. Getrude Chungu has been enlightening the Communities about the CDF Bursary from grade 1 to 12 for the differently abled children, Secondary School and women and youth Skills bursaries.
Ms Chungu has encouraged parents to take their children to school as the Government had facilitated for them through the enhanced CDF.
She also urged the youths and Women to apply in numbers for the Skills Development Bursary as this was one key area that would help create jobs opportunities and alleviate poverty.
She noted that it was important that communities were comprehensive informed about the 2024 CDF so that they an opportunity to make a well-informed decision.
Area Member of Parliament Mr. Kaliye Mandandi also took time to interact with the community to get their views on what was affecting them.
Mr. Mandandi urged the Community to be open so that he can appreciate, were he was missing on delivery to the people so that together they could pave a positive way forward for the betterment of the people in Sioma
He later encouraged women and youth to form Clubs, groups and Companies so that they also could access grants and loans.
