SIOMA District Commissioner Mike Kamutumwa has called on the youths to take advantage of various empowerment, educational and entrepreneurship programs being offered by government. He has also urged youths to explore the constituency development fund (CDF) as it provides bursaries and supports development skills and can be used as a tool to break the chains of poverty.
He also urged the youths to invest in education as it is the key to unlocking doors of opportunities and creating a brighter future for the nation “I am pleased to say that the UPND Government, under the able leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema recognizes the transformation power of education” he said.
Sioma Member of Parliament Mr. Kaliye Mandandi implored the youths to take advantage of the (CDF) and other youths empowerment programs the New Dawn Government is implementing to better their lives.
Mr. Kaliye says the Government has put in place several developmental youth initiatives to uplift the wellbeing of the youths so that they are redisposed to contribute to the economic development of the country.
“Do not relent when you do not receive the funds at first attempt, the aim of the New Dawn Government is to ensure that all the people youths in particular benefit from the empowerment of fund under CDF, Citizen Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) and other empowerment programs by the government,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sioma district Youths representative Netah Mutondo called on the Government to improve on information and communication technology infrastructure in the district.
Ms. Mutondo challenged the government to invest in expanding on reliable internet access to rural areas by promoting digital literacy and harnessing technology for economic opportunities.
She called on the youths to have a strong sense of patriotism, love and pride in their actions and decisions.
