Sioma Town Council today presented its 2024 budget performance review, highlighting revenue and expenditure trends.
The Acting Council Secretary, Mrs. Chiti Nsama Mizinga, delivered the presentation, noting an increase in revenue collection attributed to the comprehensive measures implemented by management.
The National Budget Hearing serves as a platform for local authorities to review the performance of their current year budgets (2024) and outline projections for the upcoming year (2025).
Sioma Town Council is among 21 councils participating in the budget review sessions held in Chongwe. Similar meetings for other local authorities are taking place in Kabwe and Mpika Districts.
During the meeting, Mr. Kapenda Tumusiye, Director of Human Resources and Administration, submitted Sioma’s position on the Local Government Act No. 2 of 2019, which is currently under review.
The Acting Council Secretary was accompanied by a team comprising the Director of Engineering, Director of Human Resources and Administration, Chief Accountant, Socio-Economic Planner, Accountant, Assistant Procurement Officer, Director of Health, District Agriculture Coordinator, District Fisheries and Livestock Officer, and the Assistant Public Relations Officer.
Sioma Town Council remains committed to ensuring that its 2025 budget projections reflect the aspirations of its people and align with the Integrated Development Plan (IDP).
